Clown Me In created a forum theatre street performance out of the very sensitive subject of the Syrians refugee presence in Lebanon, highlighting the discrimination and hatred they face. Two CMI facilitators gave the opportunity to Syrians to attend workshops where participants told their stories while using art forms and movement as forms of expressions. The collected stories were transformed into four small scenes and were performed 10 times in 10 different regions of the country in the Summer of 2024.
Forum theatre is a type of theatre that encourages and explores different options for dealing with a problem or issue. The scenes stage real experiences of racism, oppression, exclusion. Spectators have to stop the performance, join the stage and propose a positive change in the situation and a solution to the problem.
