Clown Relief Tour 2024

During the Lebanon-Israeli war, as airstrikes and bombings displaced thousands, fear and uncertainty consumed daily life. Families were forced into overcrowded shelters, children were left terrified by the relentless sounds of destruction, and communities faced unimaginable loss. Amid these atrocities, Clown Me In knew it was time to act. We took to the streets, shelters, and makeshift homes, bringing laughter where it was needed most. Through 150 clown performances, we reached 12,700 people (children, parents, and elders) offering moments of relief, human connection, and resilience. Each performance became a space where fear momentarily faded, replaced by humor, music, and play.

At one show, a young boy froze in terror at the sound of jets overhead. No words could convince him he was safe. One of our clowns, invited him on stage and handed him a maraca to focus on making music. Slowly, his hands steadied. Later, a motorcycle’s roar startled him again. Another clown, introduced him to a kazoo, turning the noise into a game. Together, they created silly sounds, transforming fear into play. In a time of destruction, we chose to bring joy. And we hope that next time this child hears a frightening sound (one that has become all too common) he will remember the maraca, the kazoo, and the clowns who helped him turn fear into laughter.
