CAPE 2023-2024-2025

CAPE Bootcamp – Broumana, Lebanon – May 2023

In May 2023, CMI and Clowns Without Borders Sweden gathered approximately 60 individuals from various regional CAPE teams for a 6-day workshop in Lebanon. The participants hailed from Syria, Yemen, Palestine, Jordan, Tunisia, and Lebanon, collaborating to unify the CAPE working guide across different countries. They then began conducting workshops based on the agreed-upon framework in their respective countries.

Cape 2023 Workshops

In addition to the regional workshop, CMI organized 20 separate local workshops consisting of a total of 112 sessions. These workshops were tailored for adolescents and women, reaching approximately 185 Lebanese, Syrian, and Palestinian females.

The focus was on sharing arts and social therapy-based tools, providing a safe space for expression, and offering a medium for empowerment. The workshops aimed to “speak up” and support girls and women affected by war and conflict, minority groups, those in vulnerable economic situations, and those exposed to violence and harassment. The goal was to strengthen their psychosocial wellbeing, providing a means to find inner peace.

CAPE 2025 Roundup

In 2025, Clown Me In (CMI) delivered 20 local workshops, comprised of a total of 120 sessions. These workshops were designed for adolescent girls and women, engaging around 250 participants from Lebanese, Syrian, and Palestinian communities. Through arts-based and social therapy approaches, the sessions created safe and supportive spaces for expression, dialogue, and empowerment.

The initiative specifically aimed to encourage girls and women to speak up, particularly those affected by war and conflict, belonging to minority groups, facing economic hardship, or exposed to violence and harassment. By fostering creativity and connection, the workshops contributed to strengthening participants’ psychosocial wellbeing and supporting their journey toward inner balance and resilience.
